The Latvian skipper is rapidly emerging as his nation’s stand-out speedway star. After learning his trade with Daugavpils in the Polish First Division, he is now producing some strong performances for Wroclaw in the Polish Ekstraliga.
He has also qualified for this year’s Speedway European Championship series, and reached the semi-final of round one at Torun last Friday.

2 Maksims Bogdanovs
The 2010 FIM Speedway Under-21 World Championship bronze medallist continues to be a key figure for Daugavpils.
He was handed the wild card for this year’s Rietumu Bank Latvian SGP, scoring eight points and reaching the semi-finals.

3 Jevgenijs Kostigovs
Kostigovs has appeared in two Monster Energy SWC events for his country. The 21-year-old last appeared at King’s Lynn in Event 2 of the 2015 tournament, failing to score from four rides.
But with another two years of racing for Daugavpils under his belt, he’ll be determined to make his mark in Vastervik.

4 Kasts Puodzuks
The 30-year-old is no stranger to competing on the world stage, having made four FIM Speedway Grand Prix appearances in Daugavpils, including a 10-point haul in the 2014 Rietumu Bank Latvian SGP.

Puodzuks races for Daugavpils in the Polish league and the five-time Latvian Under-21 champion’s experience could be crucial.
