Danish international Kenneth Bjerre will battle it out with the FIM Speedway Grand Prix elite again after being named as Kjærgaard Danish SGP wild card.
The former world No.7 dons the famous No.16 race jacket at CASA Arena Horsens on June 24 after making a strong start to his season across Europe.
He has starred for Danish club Holstebro, Belle Vue in the SGB Premiership, Indianerna in the Swedish Elitserien, as well as Tarnow in the Polish First Division. Bjerre is also into the semi-finals of the SGP qualification rounds for 2018 after finishing second at his quarter final in Esbjerg on May 6.
Bjerre is no stranger to the World Championship, having finished seventh in the standings twice in 2010 and 2011. He also won the 2010 Swedish SGP at Gothenburg’s Ullevi Stadium.
This will be the two-time FIM Speedway World Cup winner’s first SGP appearance since he exited the series at the end of the 2014 season.
The Esbjerg-born man is joined in Horsens by track reserves Andreas Lyager Hansen and Frederik Jakobsen, who wear the No.17 and No.18 race jackets respectively.
The Kjærgaard Danish SGP referee is Craig Ackroyd from Great Britain.
